Iskcon Temples

'Hare Rama, Hare Krishna' - the religious mantra connect human beings with the world of spirituality. ISKCON temples in India, depicts the religious saga behind the 'Hare Krishna Movement' started by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu(500 years ago) and later continued by His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. In order to propagate spiritual massages in the modern world, Swami Prabhupada established ISKCON (International Society For Krishna Consciousness).


Dedicated to Lord Krishna, around 40 ISKCON temples has been constructed by the association. The temples follow the ancient Vaishnava tradition and philosophy, which greatly influence the life of its believers. Also known as Hare Krishna temples, ISKCON are beautiful decorated with paintings of Russian artists. The framed pictures represents the glorious past of Lord Krishna and Radha; Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, brother Laxman, ardent devotee Hanuman and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

ISKCON temples are popular for religious activities like Kirtan, Aarti, Pravachan, Prasadam and other ritual programmes. The temples are highly visited during the festival of Krishna Janmashtami, which take place every year on the eighth day (Ashtami) in the month of Sravana.

ISKON Temple (Delhi)

Constructed in 1998, the revered ISKCON is located at Sant Nagar, East of Kailash, South Delhi. The magnificent temple is dedicated to Radha-Krishna, Guara-Nitai and Sita-Ram respectively. The glittering idols, a robot show(representing religious thoughts and pictures) museums with remarkable paintings and objects are worth watching.

ISKCON temple in Bangalore is one of the popular Hare Krishna temple in the entire world. Built in 1997, the colossal shrine depicts the Neo-classical style of architecture. With arches and water jets in the surrounding, the temple carries the magic to attract more than 5.1 million devotees, a year.


ISKCON Temple (Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh)

ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, was constructed way back, in the year 1975. It is one of the first 6000 temples established by International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Vrindavan. Each corner of the holy temple has been designed of marble and semi-precious stones. Within the temple area, Bhagvad Gita classes are held every morning and evening. Pilgrims can enjoy religious activities anytime from 8:15 AM to 8:45 PM.


ISKCON Chandradoya Mandir (Mayapur, West Bengal)

Situated at Mayapur in West Bengal, ISKCON Chandradyo Mandir is among the popular temples in West Bengal. Ardent devotees of 'Hare-Rama Hare-Krishna' visit the shrine from different parts of the world. Main deity within the temple complex is of Sri Radha Madhava. Besides, idols of Radha-Krishna, Advaita Acharya, Lord Nityananda, Lord Chaitanya, Gadadhara, and Srivasa Thakur are worth-watching.
